Huge Field Contest EGDGA Opening Day
A huge field of 84 players contested the EGDGA 4BBB stableford medley opening day event held at South Pines GC on Sunday 16th February.
In one of the biggest fields seen for some time for this event it was great to see a good representation from most clubs across the East Gippsland Golfing District.
A grade winners were W. Marsden & D. Mulcahy with 47 points.
A grade runners up: M Robinson & L. Boyle 46 points
B Grade Winners: Richard & Tania Holmes 49 points
B Grade Runners up: John & Fay Moulton 47 points.
Also welcomed was our Regional Development Officer from Golf Victoria, Darren Cole.

The Victoria Division of Left Handed Golfers is looking for new members.
An annual membership fee of $33 gets you the opportunity to play various courses and events with fellow lefties.

Golf Australia Vision 2025 Roadshow
Golf Australia Vision 2025 - The Future of Women and Girls in Golf
The vision for the strategy positions golf as ‘a sport where women and girls are inspired to participate, feel welcomed and nurtured throughout, and empowered to achieve their goals’.
The information session will be held at Bairnsdale Golf Club on Tuesday 26th February 2019 @ 7pm.

Who should attend the roadshow? Anyone involved in a leadership role in a golf club.
Golf Australia recommends that Captains (club & women’s), Presidents (club & women’s) and General Managers attend a roadshow presentation.
Why should our club attend? Golf Australia encourages all golf clubs in Australia to learn about the AHRC National Guidelines for the Promotion of Equal Opportunity in Golf. Ensuring golf club rules and governance are in line with state and national equal opportunity and anti discrimination laws is an important risk management strategy.
Vision 2025 Roadshow presentations will run for approximately 90 minutes.
Light refreshments will also be served.

Country Girls Play Golf Grand Final Day
The Country Girls Play Golf group held their 2018 Grand Final day @ South Pines GC on Saturday 1st December.
34 ladies from various clubs around East Gippsland District played in the monthly event which was created to encourage more participation within the District and an opportunity for lady golfers to play a medal event on a weekend. The events are rotated throughout various clubs within the District and all ladies are welcome to play

12th Annual Ron Healey Challenge won by Lakes Entrance GC
The 4 club challenge between Maffra, Lakes Entrance, Orbost & Bairnsdale Golf Clubs was played @ Orbost on the 21st November.
This is the 12th occasion the clubs have met for the 10 player per team event and this years winners were Lakes Entrance GC by one stroke over Orbost.

84 players took part in the Annual veterans challenge between East & West Gippsland District Golf Associations.
The event was played at the Sale GC and East had an average overall score of 27.46 to West 26.52
